First-round guide
From prompt to podium in six minutes.
A calm, repeatable beginner route for turning a theme into a complete look before the runway clock hits zero.
The six-minute timer, 18-item standard cap and voting flow are game rules. The minute-by-minute plan below is our recommended workflow.
The round in one line
Theme → dress → runway → vote → podium.
Standard mode gives players 360 seconds to dress. Looks then enter the runway, where other players award one to five stars and the top three reach the podium.
Recommended workflow
Your six-minute plan
0:00–0:30: Read the prompt
Translate the theme into one clear character, era, setting or mood. Pick two or three main colors.
0:30–1:30: Build the base
Choose the dominant silhouette and the one clothing piece that will make it readable from a distance.
1:30–3:30: Complete the outfit
Add the supporting top, bottom, shoes and up to three visual anchors. Resolve clipping before adding more.
3:30–4:40: Hair and face
Choose hair shape and makeup that repeat the same era or mood instead of starting a second idea.
4:40–5:30: Color, material, accessories
Unify the palette, adjust materials and remove any accessory that fights the silhouette.
5:30–6:00: Final check and pose
Step back, confirm the prompt reads, save if useful, then choose one or two poses that suit the look.
Do less, earlier.A coherent 10-item look is usually easier to read than an 18-item look assembled without a plan. The cap is a ceiling, not a target.
How a standard round works
- A prompt appears and the 360-second dressing phase begins.
- Move between clothing, accessory, hair, makeup and pose stations. Use the interface to recolor, toggle or remove pieces.
- When time ends, each player walks the runway. Other players score the look from one to five stars.
- The game totals those stars, shows the top three and adds earned stars to standard rank progress.
Three beginner mistakes to fix first
Styling before interpreting
Spend the first seconds deciding what the prompt means. If your concept cannot be said in one sentence, it may not read on the runway.
Adding details before the base works
Hair clips and jewelry cannot rescue an unclear silhouette. Lock the large shapes first, then spend remaining time on polish.
Using every favorite item
Choose accessories that repeat your colors, era or character. Remove an item if it introduces a new story.
Voting and progression
Vote based on theme fit and execution, not just how many items a look uses. The stars you receive accumulate toward standard ranks and rewards. Runway Queen begins at 3,000 stars and includes Pro server access.
